The bride as well as the groom’s family will pray to God who is embodied with a bamboo pole. This tradition is usually performed just a day before the marriage.

Rose water is thrown on the groom before the marriage. Aarti is performed by a senior female of the bride’s family to welcome the groom and his family.
·         Pallikai Thellichal – Pallikai Thellichal is performed one day before the marriage. The clay pots get filled up with the grains. ·         Lagna Pathirigai reading – It is the priest who will be reading out the invitation card. The information about the three generations of the groom as well as the bride along with the other details is announced on the muhurtam.
